Barium Chloride is a white inorganic compound with the formula BaCl2.
Barium Chloride is one of the most common water-soluble salts of Barium.
As with most other barium salts, it is a white, toxic powder and gives a yellow-green colouration in a flame.
It is also hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air), firstly forming the dihydrate – Barium Chloride Dihydrate, with the formula BaCl2(H2O)2, this is the most commonly used form of Barium Chloride.
