Chromium Trioxide

Chromium Trioxide is an inorganic compound with the formula CrO3. It is the acidic anhydride of chromic acid, and is sometimes marketed under the same name. This compound is a dark purple / red solid under anhydrous conditions, bright orange when wet and which dissolves in water concomitant with hydrolysis. It is often classed as Chromic Acid which is a misnomer (Please Read Below)

Chromic Acid is a composition made by adding concentrated sulphuric acid to a dichromate – the name is a misnomer – it contains a variety of compounds including the solid Chromium Trioxide CrO3 – this has the appearance of dark purple / red flakes.  This is the product we are selling here.
